Our alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice initially grew out of our construction industry concentration. Our lawyers were serving as mediators and arbitrators long before the rest of the legal community began to appreciate ADR processes as efficient and effective alternatives to litigation.
In the twenty-first century, however, ADR is no longer limited to construction cases and disputes. We serve as neutrals in many different substantive legal areas, including complex commercial disputes, real estate-related disputes, personal injury, property damage and insurance disputes. Our lawyers serve on the Master Mediation Panel and Construction, Commercial and Large and Complex Case Panels of the American Arbitration Association, the Neutrals' Panels of the Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution.
Our lawyers include a Past Chair of the State Bar of Georgia Dispute Resolution Section, a Past Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section, a Fellow, President and Board Member of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, a Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, neutrals registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and members of the Georgia Academy of Mediators and Arbitrators. We are often called upon to lecture both legal and industry groups on ADR topics and have lectured on ADR at the Emory University School of Law, the Georgia State University School of Law, the Mercer University School of Law, and the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University.
